Wasquehal Football faces court proceedings on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The association’s liquidation is imminent.
The situation had become so untenable that the leaders of Wasquehal Football appeared before the court on Wednesday morning. The club declared itself insolvent as it can no longer pay salaries. As reported by La Voix du Nord — a fact we can confirm — a court hearing is scheduled for May 15, with liquidation pending.
With an estimated debt of 500,000 euros, the northern club is in a financial crisis. Coaches and players are facing salary delays, and there are numerous creditors. The application for judicial reorganization was therefore essential to hope for the continuation of the club’s activities. A rescue plan will be proposed to save the youth and development programs.
It is therefore certain that the Wasquehal Football first team will be excluded from national championships at the end of the season. They will finish the National 2 championship, apart from possibly the last away game in Colmar on Saturday, May 16. Depending on the outcomes of matches in Dieppe and against Feignies-Aulnoye, this could change the rankings in the relegation battle.
If Wasquehal Football is not relegated at the end of the season, the worst fourteenth team in National 2 will be relegated instead. If the club finishes in the last two places in group B of National 2, it will not affect the current regulations. In case of reorganization or liquidation, the fate of the club will be in the hands of the FFF Comex to determine its future.
