Tragic evening at Les Quatre-Temps. On Tuesday evening, a 64-year-old man died after a terrible fall in the premises of the giant shopping center in the business district of La Défense.
It was around 9:30 pm when the sexagenarian tipped over the railing on the second floor of the huge shopping gallery, in the rotunda area. The man, who fell approximately 30 meters, landed on level -4 of the shopping center. Despite the intervention of emergency services, the man did not survive his injuries. “The fall was terrible, he had a fractured skull,” said a police source.
A deliberate fall into the void
The circumstances of this tragedy seem to leave little room for doubt. The victim was not pushed. He did not accidentally fall over the railing but intentionally took his own life. “The surveillance system footage shows that he deliberately jumps into the void,” explained the same source.
This is not the first time Les Quatre-Temps has witnessed a fatal fall. On Saturday, February 18, 2023, a man had already jumped from the second level of the main shopping center in the La Défense district. The sound of his fall was perceived as a gunshot by the many visitors to the area, leading to scenes of panic. Scenes that quickly flooded social media. Once again, suicide was confirmed by surveillance camera footage.
