When two sports enthusiasts meet, projects are born. Julien, coach at the Orange Blue in Le Soler, and Joëlle, founder of a support space for women affected by all types of cancers in Perpignan, La Maison entre Parenthèses, have combined their forces around a common goal: to get moving and strengthen the health of women engaged in the fight against the disease. Thanks to an intergenerational meeting, Julien has developed a weekly schedule allowing the discovery of various practices in the gym: boxing, Pilates, cardio, and muscle strengthening. Adapting these sessions to the fragility of those affected by the disease is not easy, but this pedagogical challenge is met with enthusiasm.
For Joëlle, the goal is clear: to prepare her members for the 2026 challenge, sports at high altitude, a demanding but stimulating sports challenge.
Today, ten “parentheses” found themselves surrounded by experienced athletes from the gyms, united in effort during a cycling session. Set to music and guided by Julien’s advice, they alternated muscle strengthening and cardio movements in a fun and motivating atmosphere. Congratulations to all: each one managed their fatigue and remained autonomous. It was difficult to leave the gym after this moment of sharing, punctuated by symbolic gifts given to Julien as a sign of gratitude. A beautiful promise for the next year.
