When confidence is there, not much can stop you. And it wasn’t the Rhodaniennes who made the Montalbanaises tremble this Sunday.

A lot of expectations were placed on this meeting as the Tarn-et-Garonnaises have been delighting in the game for many matches and climbing in the rankings. The match starts under a scorching sun, apparently not strong enough to dampen the spirits of the Montalbanaises who start off strong and quickly open the scoring with Charlotte Ouillon clinically finishing a cross from Marianne Prevot (2nd minute). The visitors try to react and hit the crossbar with a lofted direct free kick by Inès Souifi (10th minute).
At the quarter-hour mark, Charlotte Ouillon is close to doubling the lead but a superb return by Rousset defender Eva Lemenant saves the day on the goal line. The opportunities continue to mount for the MFC-TG team who clearly have control of the game but lack technical precision in the final touch, as seen with Agathe Daviaud missing a sitter (41st minute). As expected, they finally manage to double their lead just before halftime with Marianne Prevot being played in depth and finishing past the goalkeeper (45th minute). The visitors head to the locker room at halftime with their heads down, clearly discouraged by the quality of play offered by the Montalbanaises, as heard from a discussion between two players “It’s too fast.”

The second half starts like the first, with total dominance by the Montalbanaises
who execute their tactics perfectly, alternating between short and long passes, and showing great composure in ball distribution. Marine Genet, well served by Sonia Ameri who just entered the game, further extends the lead and puts an end to any suspense (55th minute). In the last half hour, the Tarn-et-Garonnaises come up against an impressive Mary Inneber, who makes save after save, allowing her team to not leave too empty-handed. Another solid performance from MFC-TG that continues to impress.
And now. In fourth place in the standings, the Montalbanaises will visit Albi-Marssac, who is in second place, next Sunday at 3 p.m.
