In Minneapolis, Donte DiVincenzo’s season has come to an end due to an Achilles tendon injury, while the severity of Anthony Edwards’ left knee injury remains uncertain. The emotional Timberwolves coach Chris Finch revealed this news after the team’s playoff victory over the Denver Nuggets.

DiVincenzo had to leave the game early in Game 4, with the nature of his injury pointing towards an issue with his Achilles. Edwards was also sidelined late in the first half. Despite missing their starting guards, the Timberwolves managed to defeat the Nuggets with Ayu Dosunmu scoring 43 points, securing a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference quarterfinal series.

“I feel completely devastated for Donte,” Finch expressed his emotions.

During the game, Edwards’ left knee seemed to buckle as he landed after contesting a layup in the second quarter. He had to be assisted to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to a left knee injury.

On the other hand, DiVincenzo seemed to hurt his lower right leg early in the game when he slipped on the court while chasing a ball. He signaled for help from the bench and could not put much weight on his right foot as he was assisted to the locker room. Eventually, he had to leave the arena in a wheelchair.

Discussing the impact of losing both players, Finch said, “Losing those two guys is really tough emotionally for our guys.”

Leading up to this game, Edwards was averaging 23 points and eight rebounds in the series, while DiVincenzo had an average of 14.3 points and made 11 out of 22 3-pointers in the first three games.

“I was heartbroken,” Dosunmu shared his feelings during a postgame interview, dedicating the victory to DiVincenzo and Edwards. “This is for them. Ant, Donte, they mean so much to the organization. I’m sending them prayers. I hope for a speedy recovery. I hope they’re fine, but this game, personally, was for them.”
