SiriusXM has reached an agreement with YouTube, a subsidiary of Alphabet, to become its exclusive audio advertising sales partner in the United States, it announced on Wednesday.
YouTube is stepping up efforts to monetize its growing base of podcasts and music listeners, creating new advertising opportunities beyond traditional video ads.
* The partnership with the audio entertainment provider allows advertisers to access YouTube’s audio advertising inventory, including podcasts, music, and spoken content through SiriusXM Media.
* Advertisers can purchase audio ads on YouTube alongside existing audio inventory from SiriusXM Media, including SiriusXM, Pandora, as well as podcast and streaming networks.
* Ad buying and delivery of ads will be handled by the AdsWizz technology platform.
* “By partnering with SiriusXM Media, we are making it easier than ever for advertisers to access these moments of high attention,” said Romana Pawar, Senior Director of Product, YouTube Ads.
* The new purchasing option is expected to launch this fall.
