A large four-alarm fire tore through multiple homes in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, early Tuesday morning. It began around 2:30 a.m. with flames engulfing three homes near Brinkerhoff Street. Firefighters battled the blaze for hours as heavy smoke billowed into the sky. The New York City Office of Emergency Management issued a warning to residents about potential smoke and odor in Manhattan.
All the residents were safely evacuated, but the three houses sustained significant damage. Aerial pictures from Chopper 2 showed the charred buildings with debris scattered in the backyard. Luis Rueda, one of the residents, expressed his confusion about the fire’s origin, stating that he witnessed the porch at the back fully ablaze. Two firefighters were hospitalized due to possible smoke inhalation but are expected to recover, as reported by the assistant fire chief.
