
There is no longer a year without major strategic upheaval: the health crisis in 2020-21, the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas followed by the destruction of Gaza by the Israeli army, Iranian missiles on Israel in 2024, the return of Donald Trump to the White House in January 2025, the Israeli-American war against Iran in 2026… International events follow one another at a frenzied pace, revealing significant rearrangements. These are partly obscured in public debate by the noise and fury of Donald Trump and a few others. One might think that the American, the Russian president, and the Chinese leader are the only overarching actors on a world stage reminiscent of the 1950s. The reality is different.

In addition to the growing importance of companies with their conflicts, resistances, and demands, in addition to non-state actors imposing their violence on the geopolitical agenda (from Hezbollah to Israeli settlers in the West Bank through Hamas, Mexican cartels, or African militias), other states are entering the regional governance table, or even that of the global great game.
