Naval and verbal escalation between the US and Iran. Tehran promises to retaliate after the spectacular seizure of an Iranian cargo ship by American forces this weekend in the Strait of Hormuz. Two days before the ceasefire ends, the future of negotiations appears more uncertain than ever.
Face to face near the Strait of Hormuz. The scene is filmed from an American destroyer. A few meters away, the Iranian ship Touska. The American army intercepts it and asks it to stop. But faced with the crew’s refusal to obey, they inform that they will attack. The Americans proceed to several shots in the engine room. a few hours later, in the night, an American helicopter with marines on board flies over the Touska.
The commando is preparing to board the ship accused of bypassing the blockade. American soldiers board the ship directly from the helicopter using a simple rope. The United States seize the Touska and take control. On his social network, Donald Trump reports on the operation: “The ship Touska tried to break our blockade and it didn’t go well for them. We have total control of the ship and are looking at what’s on board.”
On Saturday, April 18, it was the Iranians who fired on several boats in the Strait of Hormuz. Inside the targeted convoy were French ships from the company CMA CGM. After the shots, they turned back. The CMA CGM Everglade was reportedly damaged. The crew is safe. The ships are now hanging on negotiations scheduled to take place in Pakistan between the US and Iran on April 21. But the Tehran regime casts doubt. Esmail Baghei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, states: “At the moment, we have not put in place any plan for the next round of negotiations. And no decision has been made yet.”
Negotiations that are supposed to take place the day before the end of the ceasefire between the US and Iran.
