Deezer’s AI-generated music accounts for 44% of songs uploaded but only 1-3% of total streams. The platform is tightening filtering, demonetizing, and labeling to prevent an oversaturation of AI music. Deezer now receives over 75,000 AI-generated tracks daily, totaling more than 2 million per month. Despite the increase, only a small fraction of streams are AI music, with 85% identified as fraudulent and removed.
Since launching its detection tool in January 2025, Deezer has seen a significant surge in daily AI-generated tracks, from 10,000 to 75,000 in just over a year. Deezer has transformed its AI detection into a marketing tool, becoming the first platform to explicitly label AI-generated tracks. In 2025, over 13.4 million AI tracks were detected and flagged on Deezer.
These labeled AI tracks are excluded from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. Deezer aims to expand this approach to the wider industry by licensing its technology and developing more generalized detection capabilities. A study commissioned by Deezer found that 97% of respondents cannot distinguish between AI music and human-made music, with 80% believing that 100% AI-generated tracks should be clearly identified for listeners’ transparency.
