Christophe Buisson, 59, smoothly took over the presidency of the Honfleur-Beuzeville Country Community this Tuesday, April 14, during the installation council meeting. He had been the favorite candidate for this position during the municipal campaign and won by a wide margin with 41 out of 44 votes. In contrast, Christophe Perrault (three votes) represented the opposition to the future aquatic center. He likely garnered support from those who disapprove of the project, like the two community delegates from Beuzeville who are from the opposition.

“I propose a political, collective, and useful presidency, exercised in a spirit of unity and responsibility, exclusively serving the territory,” stated Christophe Buisson, the new president of the CCPHB.

Buisson also mentioned that he would meet with all municipal teams in the region in the coming weeks. The rest of the meeting proceeded smoothly with known outcomes for each round of voting. Alain Guesdon from Beuzeville, elected as the first vice president and also the oldest member, received full support. He played a key role in the 2017 merger that united the territories of Honfleur and Beuzeville and will oversee human resources and public procurement.

Additional appointments within the intermunicipal executive include Delphine Beigbeder from Beuzeville as the 7th vice president for services to the community and solidarity, Stephane Perrou from Honfleur as the 4th vice president in charge of finances, and Jacques Contassot-Vivier from Equemauville handling the environment, ecological transition, and risk management. Alain Gesbert from Saint-Sulpice-de-Grimbouville will serve as the economic affairs delegate.

The remaining vice presidents are incumbents: Jean-François Bernard (Barneville-la-Bertran) in charge of water cycles and structural projects, Sylvain Naviaux (Honfleur) overseeing urban planning and territorial development, Martine Houssaye (Saint-Pierre-du-Val) responsible for mobility, rural areas, and culture, Alain Fontaine (Foulbec) managing roads, and Didier Depirou (La Rivière-Saint-Sauveur) overseeing community heritage and welcoming travelers.
