Collectively led by the Scènes de musiques actuelles (SMAC) of the region, SMAConnexion is a project that aims to be a catalyst, designed on a territorial scale. From January to April 2026, ten venues have joined forces to offer a series of free concerts, organized into three mini-tours of three dates each. The goal of SMAConnexion? To circulate the artists supported by these venues, invite audiences to cross new thresholds, and make visible the essential missions of the SMAC.

Labelled by the Ministry of Culture, SMAC (such as Art’Cade, SMAC de l’Ariège) are spaces for creation, rehearsal, artistic support, and cultural action. They support emerging paths, foster encounters, experiment, and transmit. SMAConnexion highlights this complementarity – and each date becomes the showcase of a year-round work, a convergence point between teams, artists, and spectators.

Alone on stage, but filled with multiple voices

At Art’Cade, this dynamic takes shape during a free evening with diverse and contrasting aesthetics. This Saturday, April 18, from 9 pm in Sainte-Croix-Volvestre, three projects will each embody in their own way this diversity in motion, this creative profusion.

Mafalda High will kick off the evening: a harp placed on a low table, diverted, amplified, transformed. Alone on stage, but filled with multiple voices, she navigates genres with a daring freedom, blending pop, techno, and hip-hop. Between bright candor and darker areas, Mafalda High plays with contrasts and creates a stage presence as fragile as it is powerful.

With Pistons, it’s a rise in electro-organic tension. The duo creates an intense face-off between breath and machines, where brass instruments clash with electronic textures. Their music oscillates between lyricism and pulsation, between finesse and explosion, until it generates a form of collective exultation. Then comes Radical Kitten, a power trio between post-punk, no-wave, and noise, carried by nervous rhythms and chant-like vocals.

Their music is a space of struggle and liberation, where rage, humor, and demands interact, in an intensity that calls for both dancing and resistance. This Saturday, at Art’Cade, there will be three proposals and three styles for a common momentum: inviting to circulate forms, voices, emotions, and aesthetics.

A free evening open to everyone. More information: www.art-cade.fr.
