D4vd, 21, the “Romantic Homicide” singer whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a teenage girl whose decomposed body was found in the trunk of his abandoned Tesla last year, authorities in Los Angeles said Thursday.

The Los Angeles Police Department said Burke is being held without bail, and the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Monday. Burke’s attorneys said they are prepared to defend his innocence vigorously, emphasizing that he has not been formally charged.

Burke was arrested at a house in the Hollywood Hills, shortly after 4:30 p.m. LAPD Capt. Scot Williams confirmed the arrest.

Police found the body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, 14, in the trunk of a Tesla impounded at Hollywood Tow, after being called due to a foul odor. Court filings associated with a grand jury investigation indicated Burke was the focus of the inquiry.

Celeste was reported missing from Lake Elsinore in 2024. Authorities said she was found wearing specific clothing and accessories, but her remains were not intact. The medical examiner stated she appeared to have been dead in the car for an extended period.

When news of the discovery broke, Burke was on his Withered World Tour and cooperating with authorities. He later canceled the remainder of his U.S. tour.
