New Stage of “Rouen, the sports capital” to Promote Women in Sports

On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, a new stage of “Rouen, the sports capital” will take place at Place des Emmurées, focusing on sports for women.

A village dedicated to “Rouen, the sports capital” will be set up at Place des Emmurées on Wednesday, March 11 from 1:30pm to 5pm.

Specifically aimed at women, but open to everyone regardless of age, the public can take part in various sports workshops.

Participants can try out different sports disciplines, including canoeing on a specialized machine, and football thanks to the presence of coaches from FCR.

Other workshops specifically geared towards women will also be organized.

The goal is to raise awareness about their rights, a mission of the CIDFF members, and to address their health needs with advice and information provided by representatives of the Health Insurance.

Everything is free, come and have fun regardless of your fitness level or condition.

This program of regular meetings in the heart of the city’s neighborhoods aims to encourage regular physical activity.

It is centered around several objectives, including strengthening actions with students, initiating activities for seniors in an intergenerational logic, and promoting female participation.

This initiative is the legacy of the “Terre de Jeux” sessions that marked the 2024 Olympic year. It has already been deployed at Grand’Mare platform, Place Saint-Sever, Parc Grammont, and Place des Emmurées.
