In this new issue of Le Banquet, Anna Cabana and Christophe Ono-dit-Biot focus on cuisine: cuisine as a language, as an art, as a commitment too. With this question: is cuisine political?
From the pleasure of the table to agricultural, social, and ecological issues, how what we eat tells and shapes the world in which we live.
To discuss this, Anna Cabana and Christophe Ono-dit-Biot welcome: – Bruno Verjus, Michelin-starred chef who publishes his first novel “La recette” (Albin Michel); – Thierry Marx, Michelin-starred chef, president of the Union of Trades and Industries of Hotel Management; – Julien Denormandie, former Minister of Agriculture and Food, trained agronomist, author of “Chant du sol” (Seuil); – Eleonora Galasso, ambassador of Italian culture, writer, and comedian.
Because there was a need for a show that takes culture seriously without taking itself seriously. Because understanding the world is also understanding the stories that shape it. Because it is time to reconcile the scholarly and the popular. “Le banquet” is a program that talks about scholarly culture in a popular way and popular culture in a scholarly way. A long period, a breathing space, a place for reflection in a world saturated with information and immediate debates. At the helm are Anna Cabana and Christophe Ono-dit-Biot, both journalists and writers, setting a unique table where ideas, works, figures, and imaginations intersect.
Twice a month, “Le banquet” tackles a major cultural theme, illuminated through the history of ideas, sociology, politics, and pop culture. In a resolutely humanistic but never elitist spirit, the show creates a dialogue between Plato and Netflix, Moliere and Marvel, Barthes and social networks.
It’s Friday, take a seat at the table, the discussion can begin. Presented by: Anna Cabana and Christophe Ono-dit-Biot
