Argentinian President Javier Milei has vowed to push forward with his reforms, announcing an ambitious plan of 90 reforms in the coming year to “redesign” Argentina “for the next 50 years.”
In a speech to Parliament, Milei said he wanted to establish a “sustainable strategic alliance” with the United States under his ally Donald Trump as a “state policy,” especially to influence the “strategic rivalry field” in the South Atlantic.
“We must create ‘the Americas century’: Make Americas Great Again, from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. Let’s restore Argentina and America to their greatness,” said Milei regarding the alliance with the United States.
The president plans to implement 90 structural reforms in the year ahead, touching on areas such as tax reforms, judicial system, criminal code, and electoral system. Milei’s strong political position, bolstered by electoral success in October, paves the way for his regulatory agenda, including recent controversial labor legislation reforms.
