The majority of Cape Cod had the lights and heat on again Friday morning, after days of widespread power outages following Monday’s historic blizzard.
Only one town – Wellfleet, at 1,220 outages, or over 27% of customers in that town – remained with more than 1,000 outages, according to the Eversource outage tracker. Many towns were under 100 Eversource customers without power. In total, less than 5,000 customers on Cape Cod, Islands were still without power.
That’s a huge difference from Thursday morning, when 53,000 Eversource customers still didn’t have power, and the height of the outages, when over 150,000 people – including over 90% of at least six towns – were without electricity.
