On the 26th day of the conflict, tensions between Iran and the United States remain high despite signals of calm around the Strait of Hormuz. With conflicting statements, peace plans being discussed, and announced military reinforcements, the situation remains extremely uncertain in the Middle East.

Negotiations between Iran and the United States continue on the 26th day of the conflict. President Trump stated on the night of March 24-25 that he had received a strong signal from Tehran: “Iran has given us a gift, and the gift has arrived today. It’s a very big gift, the equivalent of a lot of money. It’s related to the Strait of Hormuz.” Iran has announced a release of pressure in the strait, but no ship seems to have officially passed through it yet. In a statement, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Non-hostile ships may, provided they do not participate in acts of aggression against Iran, benefit from safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.” According to several media outlets, the United States has presented Iran with a 15-point peace plan while preparing to continue the fight. Three thousand American paratroopers could be deployed in the Middle East soon.
