Has his predecessor made a mistake? American President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that Barack Obama had disclosed “classified information” when he casually suggested in a podcast that aliens did indeed exist.
“He has disclosed classified information, he is not supposed to do that,” lamented Donald Trump, questioned on his presidential plane about Barack Obama’s recent remarks that stirred up conspiracy theories on the subject.
“I don’t know if they are real or not,” but the former Democratic president made a “huge mistake,” said Donald Trump, who never misses an opportunity to criticize his predecessor, recently depicted as a monkey with his wife Michelle Obama in a video posted on the Truth Social account of the current president.
“I have seen no evidence”
At the end of a podcast aired last weekend, Barack Obama, in a shirt sleeves, responded to a question about the existence of aliens: “They are real, but I haven’t seen them.”
He added in this relaxed interview that to his knowledge there was no “underground installation” intended to hide their existence, as some conspiracy theories suggest.
In response to reactions on social media, the former president posted a message on his Instagram account on Sunday evening to clarify his position, asserting that he only made these comments to match the lighthearted tone of the podcast.
“Statistically, the universe is so vast that the chances of there being life elsewhere are high,” he emphasized. “But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances of us being visited by aliens are low and I have seen no evidence, during my presidency, that aliens have made contact with us. Truly!”
