Last year we had 70 performances and we plan to continue on this path in 2026″, rejoices Théo Pastor, creator and musician of the Bandùra group, reinventing the Provencal heritage. Established in September 2017, the musical group’s mission is to reinterpret traditional sounds with a modern energy. The group consists of no less than 25 musicians, aged from 18 to 70, and six dancers. Guitar, bagpipes, flute, galoubet, or violin: each instrument finds its place in this dialogue between past and present. For this new meeting, the audience will also discover a new flutist, Chloé Pigaglio, a graduate of the Lausanne High School of Music.

As part of the Sensitization Days to Provencal traditions organized by the town hall of Châteaurenard, the Maillan group (whose reputation now exceeds the borders of Bouches-du-Rhône) has been invited for an exceptional concert. In the presence of Amélie Laugier, Queen of Arles, and her maid of honor, Bandùra will once again demonstrate its renown. While the group remains deeply attached to its Maillan roots, its reputation has long crossed departmental borders. From Morocco to Scotland, passing through Italy and New York, the group showcases Provencal culture worldwide. This commitment will continue in Brittany in June 2026, and then in Corsica in 2027, with four concerts, to celebrate their ten years.

On Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 8 pm (doors open from 7:15 pm), the Etoile de Châteaurenard venue will resonate with the rhythm of a total spectacle. A truly intergenerational evening, the performance will feature young Provencal dancers from the Moulin de Bretoule association in Barbentane, as well as the La Cascaïado choir from L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

For 1.5 hours, the repertoire will surprise with its dynamism: covers of Queen and Johnny Hallyday will mingle with Celtic, Provencal, Gypsy, or even a classical dance sequence led by the talented Toulon-based Marie Barral.

Finally, the concert has a surprise in store: a special announcement regarding the group’s 10th anniversary will be officially communicated to the public.

15 euros at the entrance and free for children under 12. For more information, call 06 98 98 90 03 or visit the Etoile de Châteaurenard website: https://www.etoile-chateaurenard.com/spectacles/.
