On the eleventh day of war in the Middle East, the US Defense Minister, Pete Hegseth, stated that Tuesday, March 10 would be “the most intense day of strikes” on Iran since the beginning of the war on February 28. These statements came after Donald Trump’s announcement that the war was “almost over.” Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced on Tuesday evening that they had launched a “wave of attacks” on Tehran. Here is a summary of what happened on Tuesday, March 10.

Donald Trump threatens Iran with significant “military consequences” if Iran mines the Strait of Hormuz

The US Defense Minister, Pete Hegseth, declared that Tuesday would be “the most intense day of strikes” on Iran. Donald Trump warned that there would be significant military consequences if Iran decided to mine the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil and natural gas production normally passes.

“If for any reason there are mines laid and not removed immediately, the military consequences for Iran will be unprecedented,” the American president warned. The US military also announced on Tuesday evening that they had destroyed 16 Iranian mine-laying boats “near the Strait of Hormuz.”

Additionally, the Pentagon reported that about 140 US military personnel have been injured since the start of the war in Iran. “The vast majority of these injuries were minor, and 108 (military personnel) have already returned to duty,” stated Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell. “Eight military personnel are still considered seriously injured,” he added. US authorities had previously reported seven American military deaths in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Israel launches a “wave of attacks” on Tehran

New explosions were heard in Tehran on Tuesday evening, following Washington’s threats to subject Iran to the most intense bombings of this war. Subsequently, the Israeli army announced on Tuesday night that they had launched a “wave of attacks” on Tehran.

“The Israeli defense forces have begun a new wave of strikes against targets of the Iranian terrorist regime in Tehran,” stated the Israeli army on their official Telegram channel.
