American-Israeli strikes killed the chief of intelligence of the Revolutionary Guards on Monday, April 6, 2026, as announced by the ideological army of Iran. “Commander General Majid Khademi, the powerful and knowledgeable chief of the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, became a martyr in the criminal terrorist attack by the American-Zionist enemy […] at dawn today,” the Guards declared in a post on their Telegram channel.

“War Crimes”

Iran also warned the United States against possible “war crimes” after threats from President Donald Trump to target civilian infrastructure in the country, more than a month after the start of the war. “The American president, as the most important official of his country, publicly threatened to commit war crimes,” estimated X the deputy foreign minister responsible for legal and international affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi.

Donald Trump threatens to target power plants and bridges in Iran if Tehran does not reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, as civilian sites have already been targeted in recent weeks.

“Unacceptable”

Any strike targeting civilian infrastructure, especially energy facilities, is “illegal” and “unacceptable,” reacted European Council President Antonio Costa on Monday in a message on X. “This applies to the war waged by Russia in Ukraine and everywhere. The Iranian civilian population is the main victim of the Iranian regime. It would also be the main victim of an escalation of the military campaign,” he added.

Antonio Costa mentioned a recent meeting with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian, in which he demanded that Iran immediately stop its attacks on Gulf countries and restore maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. “After five weeks of war in the Middle East, it is clear that only a diplomatic solution will address its root causes,” he noted.
