In the midst of the conflict in the Middle East, the American army was able to recover two of its members sought in Iran. The second American pilot whose plane had crashed has been rescued and is now “safe and sound,” announced Donald Trump on Sunday. American media had earlier reported that a first crew member had been rescued, which the White House tenant also confirmed. According to the president, one of the two soldiers is seriously injured.

“In the past few hours, the American army has carried out one of the boldest search and rescue operations in United States history to aid one of our incredible crew officers, who is also a highly respected colonel,” wrote the American president on his Truth Social network.

A very large rescue operation

“I am delighted to announce that he is now SAFE AND SOUND!” added Donald Trump, specifying that the soldier had been injured. The rescue operation mobilized, according to him, “dozens of aircraft.” Since then, the president has revealed that the colonel was “seriously injured.”

Iranian and American forces had been searching for the crew of the first American combat plane to crash in Iran since the beginning of the war since Friday. The Iranian army had claimed to have shot down an F-15E fighter-bomber.

“It is the first time in military memory that two American pilots are rescued, separately, in the heart of enemy territory,” emphasized Donald Trump. According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the Revolutionary Guards claimed that an American aircraft had been shot down during the rescue operations in the region of Isfahan.
