Immigration Police in the US detains Iranian Regime Supporters The US State Department announced on Saturday that the niece and great-niece of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a drone strike ordered by Donald Trump in 2020, have been apprehended on American soil. “Last night, the niece and great-niece of the general of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Qassem Soleimani were arrested by federal agents following the revocation by Secretary of State Marco Rubio of their permanent resident status,” a State Department spokesperson said in a statement.
“The Great Satan” The niece, identified as Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, is accused by Washington of openly supporting the Islamic Republic. “While living in the United States, she promoted Iranian regime propaganda, celebrated attacks on American soldiers and military sites in the Middle East, praised the new Iranian Supreme Leader, denounced America as the ‘Great Satan,’ and expressed unwavering support for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, a designated terrorist group,” the statement claims.
Marco Rubio clarified that “Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living in luxury in the United States.” “This week, I have terminated the legal status of Afshar and her daughter, and they are now detained by ICE, pending their expulsion from the United States. The Trump administration will not allow our country to become a haven for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes,” the Secretary of State wrote.
The State Department also specified that Marco Rubio revoked the “legal status” of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani, the daughter of Ali Larijani, the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in early April. Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani and her husband “are no longer present in the United States and are barred from any future entry” onto American soil, the State Department added.
