The Minister of Justice has failed to meet the demands of the president to prosecute his adversaries and is paying the price for her mishandling of the Epstein case. She will be replaced by Todd Blanche, a former lawyer of Donald Trump.

Her disastrous handling of the Epstein case and her inability to prosecute Donald Trump’s political opponents have cost Pam Bondi her job. The Attorney General was informed of the end of her duties via a message on Truth Social on Thursday. Less than a month after the dismissal of the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, Bondi becomes the second cabinet member to be fired by a president who had so far avoided ministerial reshuffles.

“Pam Bondi is a great American patriot and a loyal friend,” Trump wrote in his message. “Pam has done a remarkable job overseeing a vast campaign to reduce crime across our country, resulting in the lowest murder rate since 1900. We love Pam, and she will take on new and important roles in the private sector, which will be announced soon,” added the American president, while announcing the appointment of the Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to replace her.

Bondi’s loyalty is tested when she takes on the role of Minister of Justice. Despite the close relationship between American presidents and their Justice Ministers, Bondi does not even pretend to be independent.

Bondi’s zeal led to massive purges in her ministry. “Many people at the FBI and the Department of Justice dislike Donald Trump, we will root them out,” she announced. Prosecutors investigating Donald Trump are the first targets. Corruption investigation offices are reduced, as well as those responsible for combating discrimination. Two hundred prosecutors are fired, and thousands of officials voluntarily leave their positions.

The new Minister of Justice sides with the president when he clashes with the judiciary. Bondi zealously implements the administration’s policies, even when they conflict with the law or judges. She approves the expulsion of illegal immigrants to prisons in third countries and disregards court decisions suspending these measures.

Bondi underestimated the obsession of the MAGA circles with the Epstein case. Instead of exposing the wrongdoings of the Democrats, her promises to open the case backfired, especially against Donald Trump, who she sought to impress. The Epstein affair spirals out of control, and Bondi’s attempts to suppress it only worsen the situation.

Even though Bondi made every effort to satisfy Trump, her department’s failures and controversies made her position within the administration precarious. She faced criticism not only from Democrats but also from Republicans and even the president himself.

Bondi’s departure was welcomed by Democratic opponents, who accused her of leading a corrupt Justice Department that prioritized the president’s interests over those of the American people.
