According to information from the New York Times, the Pentagon is in discussions with Denmark to establish three new American bases in the Arctic region.

Donald Trump has not given up on his plans for installation in Greenland. The United States is currently negotiating to obtain access to three additional bases in Greenland, two of which had been abandoned by the Americans, according to a senior Pentagon official.

Step by step, Americans regain control

“I am working with our ministry and other entities to try to develop more ports and airfields, which will provide more options to our secretary of state and the president, if we need them in the Arctic,” he explained to a parliamentary commission in March.

According to the NYT, military officials were interested in the towns of Narsarsuaq, in southern Greenland, which has a deep water port, and Kangerlussuaq, in southwestern Greenland, which already has a cargo plane-friendly landing strip.

No information is currently available on the number of troops the United States would like to send to the Arctic. All parties have not responded to the newspaper at this time.
