Contrary to what Donald Trump stated earlier on Tuesday, March 31, France has not restricted the overflight of its airspace to American military aircraft, according to a military source informed by BFMTV.
The same source also stated that landing conditions remain the same: only logistical transport planes can land, specifically at the bases of Istres and Avord.
“We are surprised by this tweet. France has not changed its position since day one and we confirm this decision, which is in line with the French position since the beginning of this conflict,” reported the Élysée to BFMTV, reacting to Donald Trump’s post.

Spain has closed its airspace to American aircraft
Donald Trump also mentioned on his Truth Social network that France “has been very uncooperative” in the war against Iran and warned that “the United States will remember.”
On Monday, Spain announced the closure of its airspace to American aircraft involved in the war against Iran. “The use of American bases in Spain is not authorized, and, of course, the use of Spanish airspace for actions related to the war in Iran is also not allowed,” stated Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles yesterday.
