Fabio Di Giannantonio has secured pole position for the second consecutive Grand Prix in MotoGP. After Brazil, the Italian will start at the front of the grid in Austin, in the Sprint and Grand Prix of the United States. Di Giannantonio, also known as “Diggia,” was strong on the flying lap but was penalized for riding too slowly on the race line, resulting in a two-place grid drop.
As a result, the official Ducati of Francesco Bagnaia will move up to the front row, ahead of Joan Mir’s Honda. In his hometown of Austin, Marc Marquez had to concede victory to teammate Francesco Bagnaia, who won the same circuit a year ago and will start fourth. Jorge Martin leads the third row with Alex Marquez and Fernandez Aldeguer. Luca Marini, initially ninth, slips to eleventh place after a penalty.
Starting from the fourth row of the grid are Ai Ogura and Enea Bastianini. Raul Fernandez will start thirteenth ahead of Diogo Moreira. Johann Zarco, winner of the 2025 French Grand Prix, will start fifteenth, just ahead of Fabio Quartararo. Yamaha riders, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Brad Binder, will start 17th and 18th respectively.
Jack Miller and Alex Rins will be on the last row, surrounding Franco Morbidelli in twentieth place, with his teammate on pole position. Maverick Vinales will not take part, reducing the grid to 21 riders. The Sprint race will start at 9 PM on Saturday, followed by the Grand Prix on Sunday at 10 PM after the daylight saving time change overnight.
