53.84 percent is the voter turnout of the 19,201 Lunel residents registered on the electoral lists for the second round of municipal elections on March 22nd, which is almost identical to the first round (53.32%).

This Sunday, the three candidates who gathered more than 10% of the votes in the first round are competing to either retain or become the mayor.
These candidates are Paulette Gougeon (My party is Lunel), the incumbent mayor who secured 28.07% of the votes in the first round, Anthony Belin (Lunel is You!), who received 21.37% of the votes, and Stéphane Dalle (Lunel at Heart), with 19.02% of the votes.
The 16 polling stations, which can be found here, are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Candidates voted in the morning
The candidates’ voting started with Anthony Belin at 9:30 a.m. at the Pont de Vesse school. Stéphane Dalle followed at 10:10 a.m. at the Jacques-Brel school, accompanied by his wife and daughter. Finally, Paulette Gougeon voted at 11 a.m. at the Arc-en-ciel school with her family.

After voting, the three candidates addressed a message, calling on the residents of Lunel to mobilize on this voting day.
Nearly 30% Participation by 12 p.m.
By 12 p.m., the participation rate reached 29.89%, according to the City. For comparison, the participation rate in the Hérault department was 25.06%.
In Lunel, this marks an increase of two points compared to the first round on March 15th, where it was 27.87%, and a four-point increase compared to the 2020 second round (25.12%).
Relocation of Polling Station Number 5
This year, polling station number 5 is not located in the Georges Brassens room. To get there, voters need to go to the Trophées room in front of the arenas.
Update at 4 p.m. by Polling Station
Two hours before the polling stations closed, the participation rate reached 47.84%, a one-point increase from the previous week.
The lowest participation rate was 36.49% at polling station number 11, and the highest was 54.66% at the Roustan school (number 11). Four other polling stations exceeded 50%: Louise-Michel school, Folquet hall, Ados club, and Camille-Claudel school. The remaining ten polling stations had participation rates between 43.5% and 49%.

An hour before the polling stations closed, the participation rate stood at 51.34%, a slight increase from the first round on March 15th at 50.47%.
In the Hérault department, the participation rate was 54.93%.
