Political Marketing: Over 100,000 SMS sent in Toulouse campaign

Digital political marketing has made its mark on the Toulouse campaign. Close to 100,000 SMS messages were sent, amounting to 37,895 euros. While legal, the candidate’s team reportedly preferred not to publicize the amounts spent.

How much did this digital marketing cost the Piquemal list?

“It’s public money financing all this,” protests Olivier, a reader of La Dépêche. In reality, while these expenses must be recorded in the campaign accounts of François Piquemal, they are initially covered by the candidates before a possible reimbursement by the state, provided the list obtains at least 5% of the votes cast. According to a document from “SelfContact,” seen by La Dépêche, and while authenticity could not be confirmed, the “Toulouse Left United” list reportedly spent over 37,000 euros on Thursday evening around 9 pm, to send about 100,000 SMS messages (37,895.98 euros for exactly 99,221 SMS).

81,072 euros for access to 212,844 Toulouse numbers

As for the rates, the offer is clear: “81,072 euros for access to the 212,844 potential voter numbers in the Pink City.” The latest electoral propaganda sent by SelfContact was scheduled for Friday around 5 pm. François Piquemal’s campaign management confirmed the amounts (37,895 euros) spent with the provider. Meanwhile, Jean-Luc Moudenc’s team also reportedly used this method for their own campaign, with waves of SMS highlighting the new digital and numeric campaign strategies used by the candidates’ teams.
