Sophie Sangely has been living in Samatan for 3 years and is experiencing her first political candidacy at the age of 24. As the eighth person on Alexandre Duval’s list for the municipal elections, she aims to leverage her community involvement for the benefit of the residents of her town.

For the past three years, Sophie has found fulfillment in her new environment in the Gers region, specifically in Samatan. She expresses her love for the area and her intention to stay there for a long time. Her strong connection with the locals and businesses in Savès is something she cherishes, a closeness she didn’t experience in Blagnac, her previous home city.

Sophie, who holds a BTS degree in esthetics, took over the management of the Bergamote beauty institute in the town center after the previous owner retired. This opportunity came to her unexpectedly but felt like a sign. Since then, she has expanded her network among clients and other local businesses.

In addition to her professional work, Sophie is deeply involved in various associations and sports activities. She took on the presidency of the “Samatan, mon terroir, mon village” association and has been actively working to unite and energize the local shops through different events, such as a merchant’s lottery held last December.

Sophie’s passion for twirling baton led her to establish the Twirling-Club samatanais in 2023, despite her young age. The club has already achieved success at a high level, with the senior team winning the French championship in Lille last year.

Her dedication to community initiatives caught the attention of Alexandre Duval, a candidate in the municipal elections, who invited her to join his list “Samatan, your voice, your future.” As the youngest member among the 23 candidates, Sophie is excited to work alongside like-minded individuals to revitalize the town’s market, lake, and businesses.

Regardless of the election outcome, Sophie is grateful for the experience and learning opportunities she has gained over the past year of engagement with the community. She values the chance to unite with others of different ages and backgrounds, all striving for positive change.

Sophie Sangely remains optimistic about the future, emphasizing her commitment to serving the residents of Samatan and continuing her contributions to the community, as demonstrated by her participation in upcoming public meetings and events.
