OPINION – Nearly two months after the death of Quentin Deranque, Deputy Raphaël Arnault returns to the ranks of the uncompromising in the National Assembly, without expressing an ounce of contrition.

On would almost forget: on February 12, in Lyon, a 23-year-old boy was lynched to death by ‘antifascist’ militants, leading to the indictment of members of the Young Guard, including collaborators of LFI deputy Raphaël Arnault, founder of this movement whose dissolution was requested by the Ministry of the Interior. It was less than two months ago. The return of the Vaucluse deputy to the benches of the Assembly gives the impression that the chapter of this heinous event is closed. And that the Uncompromising are in the process of turning around a political narrative that had thrown them into turmoil.

Not much ostentation for this return to the Hemicycle but not an ounce of contrition either. It is the Mélenchonist method: never regret anything (at least publicly), never apologize, never concede anything, hunker down in the storm and counter-attack when the winds calm down, or when one looks elsewhere.
