In Castelnau-Durban, the electoral campaign is entering an active phase with the officialization of the “Traditions et Avenir” list. At its head, Olivier Raton, a well-known local figure for his 45-year commitment to Sérònais, former head of the fire station and current deputy mayor. He advocates for an approach to local politics based on action rather than geographical roots. “The Republic has never based its principles on local heritage, but on citizen participation,” he says, emphasizing that legitimacy is earned through contribution to the common good.
A rigorous management method: The team, united by a “common foundation” in service to the village, proposes a method based on transparency and planning. The candidate relies on “stability and consistency in action” to address the challenges of a period of resilience. This commitment to clarity will be accompanied by modernizing communication tools and establishing regular availability to strengthen proximity with residents.
A program anchored in daily life: The project defended by the list focuses on consolidating essential infrastructure and improving the living environment. The team plans to initiate a structured program for maintaining roads and social housing, while completing sanitation and water networks in areas that still need them. The secure development of Traverse under the plane trees will be completed to integrate into a sports hub including a renovated tennis court, while traffic flow and waste collection will be rethought for more efficiency. Beyond daily tasks, two major projects highlight this ambition: the construction of a multi-purpose eco-responsible hall and the study of an autonomous residence to enable aging residents to live with dignity in the village.
Proximity and schedule: True to its commitment to consultation, the list will actively support the active forces of the municipality, from merchants to farmers, while preserving heritage and schools. Members of “Traditions et Avenir” will meet with residents door-to-door on March 1st. This event will be marked by a key meeting: a public meeting scheduled for March 6th at 6:30 pm in the multi-purpose hall of Castelnau-Durban.
