As part of the Tout Petit Festival organized by Cauvaldor during this month of March, local artists are taking hold of books and offering shows and awakening workshops for young children in 17 locations in the northern part of Lot (daycares, early childhood centers, libraries).
Last Saturday, at the library of Souillac, Charlotte Champettier, an artist from Parentheses de Char’Lot in Gramat, gave an animated reading of the book “Encore un plouf” by Isabelle Ricq, in front of about a dozen children aged 1 to 6. In front of this lively reading show, the children were invited to watch, listen, smell, and touch.
Then, the children engaged in free creation with a moment of dressing up and manipulating materials, followed by painting with coarse salt and bubbles. An artistic experience that tickled the fingers and made children and parents smile during this creative, family-friendly, and sensory workshop.
These activities complement the First Pages program initiated by the Ministry of Culture in 2009, and as part of this program, every year, the department of Lot offers a book to children born or adopted the previous year. In 2026, the book “Encore un plouf” by Isabelle Ricq is being distributed to families.
