Woman wanted on federal gun charges taken into custody in Pittsburgh

    A woman wanted on federal gun charges was taken into custody after officials said she attempted to run from police near a parking garage in Downtown Pittsburgh. Allegheny County dispatchers confirmed to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that officials were called to the corner of Stanwix Street and Fort Duquesne Boulevard around 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Sky 4, Pittsburgh’s only news chopper, flew over the scene where police were seen entering a nearby parking garage. K-9 units were also seen searching the area. A spokesperson for Pittsburgh police later confirmed the ATF and the city police’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit were in a joint operation, searching for a woman wanted on federal firearm and other charges. Officials said she was taken into custody in Downtown after getting out of a vehicle and running on foot from police.
