Israel launched new strikes on Tehran on the night of Tuesday, March 24th, following President Donald Trump’s statement that progress had been made in negotiations between the U.S. and Iran to end the war, which was denied by the Islamic Republic.
The New York Times and Israeli Channel 12 reported that Washington had transmitted a 15-point plan to Iran through Pakistan to resolve the conflict. Among other things, the plan demands that Tehran never try to acquire nuclear weapons, and that a “free maritime zone” be established in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran assured last night that “non-hostile” ships could transit through the strategic passage.

At 7:06 pm, Iran’s military spokesperson mentioned that Iran is communicating internally and does not intend to negotiate with the U.S.
By 6:50 pm, President Macron urged Iran to engage sincerely in negotiations for de-escalation and participate in international expectations regarding its nuclear and ballistic programs.
As of 6:20 pm, the U.S. had presented a 15-point peace plan to Iran to end the conflict via intermediaries, although Iran denied having manipulative intentions.
