The event took place in the presence of Patrick Weiten, President of the Moselle Department. This partnership marks a strong commitment to providing access to culture for all, especially for patients who are often isolated. In this context, the Department has offered 1,500 books of a wide variety, adapted to all ages, and has also made equipment available such as e-readers and a reader for the visually impaired.
This initiative aims not only to enrich the cultural offer within the hospital, but also to support the well-being of patients by promoting social connections and the discovery of the world through reading. “At Bel-Air Hospital, the reopening of the library signifies much more than the return of a service: it is the rebirth of a place of comfort and escape for patients. Because this library is more than just a reading space. It is a place of connection, respite, and support for patients, their families, and the staff,” declared Patrick Weiten, President of the Moselle Department. The library team will also receive support from the Public Reading and Libraries Department (DLPB), ensuring a quality service. In conclusion, this action illustrates the Department’s desire for everyone to benefit from access to culture, regardless of their situation.
