Each year, we search for new ideas to introduce our students to arts and cultures from around the world,” explains Julien Dusserre, a teacher and cultural referent at the Lycée de la Méditerranée. With the support of the principal Laurence Delattre, her deputy Sabine Aüllo, and the Artothèque, the teacher is implementing a program for the entire school. “Some time ago, we met Armenian artists who were exhibiting at the chapel of the Blue Penitents. We really loved these paintings and it gave us the idea to dedicate our two weeks to Armenia,” he says.
The teacher approached the painter Arman Antonian who, along with a collective of Armenian artists, put together a magnificent exhibition of expressive and colorful paintings and photos of cultural sites in Armenia that are on display until April 2 in the main hall of the school. “We also worked with Samuel Kabakian, president of the cultural association of Armenians from La Ciotat and Ceyreste, who was very helpful,” adds the teacher.
