The Brazilian Football Federation announced on Monday that Alex Sandro and Gabriel will not be available for the matches against France and Croatia on March 27 and 31. Alex Sandro will be replaced, but Gabriel will not be.

After goalkeeper Alisson was ruled out, Brazil’s national team faces the absence of two more players for the upcoming matches against France and Croatia on March 27 and 31: defenders Alex Sandro and Gabriel, as confirmed by the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) on Monday.

Alex Sandro, from Flamengo, suffered a muscle injury behind his thigh on Sunday during a league match against Corinthians, as reported by his club. In order to fill in for the left-back, Italy’s national team coach Carlo Ancelotti has called up Kaiki, who plays at the same position for Cruzeiro.

Gabriel, the central defender from Arsenal, injured his right knee during the lost League Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday. Medical tests have “confirmed” that he is not fit to play in these matches, according to the CBF, which will not call up any replacement player for him.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, dealing with a muscle strain, had already withdrawn from the list on Friday and was replaced by Hugo Souza from Corinthians. These friendly matches of the Brazilian team in the United States are part of their preparation for the 2026 World Cup (June 11-July 19 in North America), where they are placed in Group C alongside Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.
