Since 1980 every summer, the commune of Périgord Noir resonates with the sounds and colors of culture from all around the world, with values of sharing, peace, and fraternity. The 45th edition of the event will take place the week of July 27 to August 2.
The program of festivities was presented by Bernard Criner, president of the association, on Thursday, February 12 at the Nelson Mandela space.
“For the hundredth anniversary of our association and the 45 years of existence of Cultures aux cœurs, this year is special,” he emphasizes. “We will witness a unique event in the department with over 300 artists representing ten countries from five continents. A week of festival with over sixty hours of performances and cultural exchange tours lasting several days for some hosted groups.”
Highlights It will all begin on Monday, July 27 at the Louis-Aragon square with a Vigara evening, followed by the opening on Tuesday, August 28 where all the groups will come together to celebrate 45 years of history and passion.
On Wednesday, July 29 at the Amitié terrace, there will be a Creole show by Batuc’ados with a performance by singer Mentissa (known from the TF1 show ‘The Voice’).
On Thursday, July 30, the gala of Monts en Lagons will be followed by groups from Panama, Savoie, and Tahiti. On Friday, July 31, it will be a festive evening in the city with Baduc’ados, Bras K’C, and Sohalia.
On Saturday, August 1, the public will enjoy the anniversary evening celebrating the historic date of the 100 years of the Montignacois Laïque Association with Chile, Croatia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Tahiti. Finally, on Sunday, August 2, there will be a closing panorama with all the groups on stage, followed by a fireworks finale.
Note that some afternoons, groups will demonstrate in surrounding villages.
