The official opening ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. on March 23 in Hanoi, under the chairmanship of the Russian Vice Minister of Culture, Andrey Malyshev, and his Vietnamese counterpart, Ta Quang Dong.

From March 23 to 27, 2026, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Russian Embassy in Vietnam, is organizing the “Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam.” This event, held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, reflects cultural cooperation agreements for the period 2025-2027.

The highlight will be the performance by the Omsk Popular Choir, with a program titled “Heirs of Siberia.” This group will also perform in Ho Chi Minh City on March 25, showcasing a combination of folk songs, ballet, and orchestral music depicting the life and soul of Siberian residents.

In addition to performances, an exhibition showcasing Russia’s cultural heritage features nearly 30 photographs of natural and cultural UNESCO World Heritage sites. Visitors can also explore applied art objects, handicrafts, and traditional Russian costumes, providing a deeper insight into the history and diversity of the Russian Federation.

On the sidelines of the festivities, the second meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Working Group on Cultural Cooperation was held on March 23 in Hanoi. Discussions focused on future directions, including organizing large-scale cultural programs, performing arts, and cinema, with particular attention to the potential hosting of the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in Vietnam and exchange programs between photographers from both countries.

This event highlights the shared desire to promote mutual understanding and strengthen friendship between Vietnam and Russia. -VNA/VI
