After record-breaking hot weather over the weekend, North Texas will see cloudy and cooler conditions for the start of the work week.
Temperatures are forecast to top out at 72 degrees Monday, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. A slight 5 to 10 mph northeast wind is expected.
Skies will be slightly overcast into the evening, with a low of 59 degrees and winds around 5 mph.
The daytime temperature at D-FW International Airport reached 95 degrees Sunday at 4 p.m., which is two degrees higher than the previous record set in 1934 and 1995, the weather service said.
The rest of the week will see highs ranging from the mid-70s to mid-90s and lows in the 50s and 60s, according to the weather service.
