France Travail is dedicating a specific hub to defense sector recruitment efforts, led by a retired army general. Dominique Vitte, who spent 38 years in the army and served as the director of the Mission for the Civilian Reintegration of Generals (MIRVOG) between 2020 and 2023, will head this recruitment initiative. She also worked with the reserves of the Army where she supported 25,000 reservists in their engagement.
Minister of Labor Jean-Pierre Farandou praised Dominique Vitte’s extensive experience in the defense industry, highlighting her efforts in career transitions and supporting diverse profiles. This initiative was announced in response to the creation of thousands of jobs in the defense industry.
France Travail’s team will collaborate with the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), army representatives, professional organizations, and nine major industrial contractors to identify skill and job needs for the defense sector, particularly for SMEs. Over 5,000 job offers in the defense industry will be available across France, with an event scheduled for April 23 in Toulon.
