Ismaël Diallo, a key player at the end of DFCO’s victorious season, will be leaving Dijon to join a Ligue 1 club, Toulouse, who finished 10th in the league. This move was confirmed by TFC on Friday.
As expected, Ismaël Diallo will not be playing in Ligue 2 with DFCO next season. After two years in Dijon, the full-back has signed with Toulouse, where he will compete in Ligue 1 this summer. The 22-year-old player played a significant role in Dijon’s National title win, contributing three goals and four assists in 24 matches.
Diallo also showcased his versatility by playing half of his matches at left-back, initially at the beginning of the season and then during the final sprint after Fady Khatir was sidelined. He notably scored a crucial goal against Versailles to turn around a challenging situation in March.
Arriving from Paris 13 Atletico, Diallo was named one of the breakout stars of the season at the National awards alongside Paul Bellon. The award ultimately went to Shelton Guillaume from Versailles, while Diallo was part of the league’s best XI along with three other Dijon players.
On Thursday night, DFCO confirmed the arrival of Moussa Faty from Le Puy as Diallo’s replacement at left-back for the upcoming Ligue 2 season.
