Lieutenant Colonel Monnier, military delegate of the Aube department, came on the afternoon of Thursday, March 19, to present to the 3rd grade students of the school, the missions of the French army, in particular discussing foreign operations. This conference will serve as an introduction to teaching the issues of defense, which is part of the moral and civic education curriculum.
At the same time, Didier Martial, local delegate of the French Memory, came to present to the 4th year students of the Defense section, the action and role of his association. And the 3rd year students gave him a presentation of their visit to the interpretation center of Suippes and to the Main de Massiges, a major site of the Second Battle of Champagne during World War I.
Didier Martial also met with the Defense class students at the high school. The school and the French Memory have entered into a partnership. Indeed, the students will participate in the maintenance of the graves of soldiers who died for France at the military cemetery of Bar-sur-Aube. The French Memory, for its part, financially supported the trip of the 3rd year students, and also that of the Defense section students of the high school, for the visit to the memorial sites of the First and Second World Wars.
These actions allow students to develop their knowledge in history and their civic spirit.
