Several American media outlets are reporting, this Friday, that the United States plans to send military reinforcements to the Middle East, deploying additional troops from the Marine Corps, as the ongoing conflict has lasted for three weeks.

According to the Wall Street Journal, between 2,200 and 2,500 Marines based in California could be mobilized, explaining that the US army has already deployed around 50,000 soldiers. Meanwhile, CNN mentions the arrival of “thousands of Marines and sailors” in the region, units equipped with amphibious intervention capabilities.

When questioned, the Marine Corps only specified that the units involved were “deployed at sea,” without detailing their mission, while the media had already reported last week on the dispatch of three ships and 2,500 additional Marines from Japan.
