For ten years, she shared the adventure “Don’t Do This, Do That” with him. She was Fabienne Lepic, Bruno Salomone, Denis Bouley. Reached by phone, Valérie Bonneton, very moved, speaks of the shock, the sadness of the “group”, and the memory of a man “extremely sweet”, “very sensitive”, with a “crazy smile”, who “never stopped joking”, even in the hospital.
VALÉRIE BONNETON. I am in shock and deeply sad. I hesitated to answer you and I thought it was important for everyone to know that he was a good guy, a beautiful person. A dear friend. There is nothing more painful than realizing that we will no longer see someone we love. He had been sick for a long time, according to his family. He had an incredible vitality because he fought so hard.
Are you losing a dear friend?
We are all deeply saddened. We were a family and today we are a grieving family. Even if we were expecting it, it is a shock, a pain. Bruno leaving is like a family member leaving. Bruno leaving is “Don’t Do This, Do That” leaving.
You shared ten years on “Don’t Do This, Do That”?
It was absolute happiness. And Bruno was a wonderful person. We laughed a lot. When I think of him, I see a crazy smile. A crazy smile he kept until the end. Beyond humor, he was extremely sweet and funny. To invent, to write, for everything. Behind that humor, there was an immense, a very great sensitivity. It’s heartbreaking even now.
He was clowning around?
A lot. He never stopped joking. Especially with Guillaume (de Tonquedec), they formed a little duo together. They were constantly laughing. Bruno enjoyed life, he had a sense of sharing. What mattered most was being together.
You remained close?
Very close. Can you imagine, we spent ten years together. Like a love story. Bruno is my television love story.
Have you seen him recently?
Yes, we made every effort to see each other. Not long ago, we had dinner with the “Don’t Do This, Do That” team at home. Even though it’s complicated to bring everyone together, we try to meet regularly. Bruno was amazing, he held onto hope…
