The Michel-Olive hall once again vibrated with jazz for the highly anticipated opening of the first Jazz Cave of the season. An event that, year after year, has become one of the cultural highlights of the town. To mark this return, the renowned Santandrea Swing 6tet, regulars at the venue, delivered over three hours of lively and engaging swing music. The performance was well received by an enthusiastic audience, delighted to be back in this warm atmosphere. President René Grauby and the entire team of volunteers from the Jazz/Conilhac association expressed their satisfaction openly. After a period disrupted by bad weather, music has once again taken its rightful place in the most beautiful way. The success of the Jazz Caves is based on a simple and irresistible concept: a quality concert, accompanied by a meal prepared and served by the volunteers. For this first event, the dedicated team had prepared a delicious macaroni dish, enjoyed as much as the American standards that resonated through the hall. This combination of gastronomy and music creates a unique atmosphere, where artists and spectators share a special moment. A monthly event that is building a loyal and expanding audience.
An enticing program awaits until the summer: on Friday, March 27, the group The Blinkers will light up the stage. The menu will feature beef bourguignon. On Friday, April 22, Musicoloris will perform, accompanied by a pork curry. On Friday, May 22, trumpeter Jacques Adamo, a local resident of Conilhac, promises a colorful evening. Taste buds will journey with a sausage rougail. On Friday, June 12, Mosaic 4tet will take over, with Jean-Michel Cabrol as a guest. The public will savor a Spanish rice dish. Another event on Friday, September 24. While the musical program remains a secret, a major announcement is expected that day: the official presentation of the 2027 festival poster.
Beyond the shared pleasure, Jazz Caves play an essential role: they directly contribute to the funding of the traditional festival organized from November onwards. By coming out in large numbers, jazz enthusiasts contribute to the sustainability of this event that shines the spotlight on Cognac-Rivièra well beyond its borders.
