President Trump is holding a press conference before a meeting with the Kennedy Center board of trustees as the third week of the Iran war continues. The board will discuss and vote on proposed renovations while the center is closed for two years starting on July 4.

Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty of Ohio, a board member, is contesting the center’s closure. A federal judge granted her motion to participate in the meeting and voice her dissent. Beatty emphasized the importance of preserving the national heritage of the Kennedy Center and vowed to express her concerns at the meeting.

Amidst escalating tensions with Iran, oil prices have risen above $100 per barrel, prompting the U.S. to consider deploying additional forces to the Middle East. Iran alleges significant casualties from U.S.-Israeli strikes, including 13 U.S. service members among the fatalities.

Following recent changes, Ric Grenell stepped down as the center’s president, with Matt Floca appointed as the new CEO.
