The general meeting of the Un Brin de Culture library association was held on Friday, February 26. The attendance was higher thanks to the arrival of new members, which pleased the officials. Annie Avé, the president, reported on all the events that marked the year 2025.

    Readings and Tributes
At the media library, the association welcomed author Marie Pialot, interviewed by Jean-Paul Pascal, who hosted all the writers from the region and sometimes beyond on the Grille Ouverte program. It was an excellent moment to discuss and listen to excerpts from Marie’s novels. A tribute was paid to Jean-Pierre Chabrol through excerpts from his books read at the media library by the Company de l’Emporte-pièce, an exhibition of paintings depicting the life and work of the author, the screening of the film “Un homme de trop” in Barjac, and finally, a guided tour of the hamlet of Avéjan by Paulette Delbos, who knew the writer’s parents from the village. The tribute day ended in the Saint-Pierre church, with a large group appreciating the books of this great Cévennes writer.

In addition, Françoise Barry released a new novel: “Exilés en Margeride,” presented by Jean-Paul Pascal. Michèle Taulelle read excerpts that had particularly touched her. And at the end of September, an outing took place in Nîmes. Furthermore, books were purchased throughout the year. This moral report was unanimously approved.

    Time for Projects
Josette Vincent, the treasurer, then presented the financial report. Expenses included insurance, account fees, and receptions for book signings. In addition, 230 euros were spent on books, either in bookstores or during book signings. The financial statement was unanimously approved.

The projects for 2026 include the visit of two or three authors, including Françoise Vielzeuf and Mireille Pluchard, an outing to Saint-Montan, and possibly a Night of Reading, as well as the spotlight on the heritage of Saint-Jean-de-Maruégjols.
